Members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be bringing the Grey Cup to Estevan later this month.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders' Hockey Challenge will be in Estevan on Sunday, January 26, at Affinity Place. The Grey Cup has been travelling across the province this month as part of the Riders' Grey Cup victory celebrations, and Estevan is among the cities on the tour.
The event will kick off at 11:30 a.m., with autographs by Roughrider players and photos with the Grey Cup. The autograph session will last for a couple of hours, while the Grey Cup photos will be taking place throughout the event.
The hockey game will be at 2:30 p.m. It will pit Rider players against members of the community, including representatives from minor and high school football, the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service, the Estevan Police Service and the Estevan RCMP.
About 15 Roughriders are expected to be in Estevan.
Proceeds will be directed towards Penta Completions Estevan Minor Football.
The hockey challenge was initially supposed to be held in March of 2013, but was cancelled due to inclement weather the day of the event.
