Fatal accident near Forget


One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Highway 13 about five kilometres east of Forget.

Carlyle RCMP were dispatched to the accident at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The collision involved a semi truck trailer unit and a three-tonne truck. The driver of the three-tonne truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver sustained serious facial injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Regina.

Members of the RCMP Forensic Traffic Collision Unit attended the scene and assisted with the investigation. The traffic on Highway 13 was detoured around the accident site during the investigation.

The highway reopened at about 9 p.m. on Thursday.  

The name of the victim will not be released.

Road and weather conditions are not considered to be contributing factors. An investigation is on going.
