SaskTel and its employees in the Estevan area supported seven local organizations through TelCare – the Crown Corporation's employee donation benevolent fund.
A total of $6,825 will be pledged to different entities. They are: the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, Child Find Saskatchewan, the Community Asthma Clinic, the Estevan Regional Nursing Home, the Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and the United Way Estevan.
"Each year our employees show their generosity by supporting non-profits in the communities where they live and work," said SaskTel president and CEO Ron Styles.
"TelCare is a time-honoured tradition for SaskTel and our employees, and the holiday season is a perfect time for us to demonstrate our appreciation for the hard, selfless work undertaken by these organizations."
SaskTel TelCare is a volunteer organization of SaskTel employees who contribute donations through an automatic payroll deduction program. SaskTel donates 50 cents for every dollar employees contribute through TelCare.
Across the province, the TelCare program will contribute $320,675 to Saskatchewan non-profit organizations in 2013.
