Trimount Developments continues to forge ahead with its work in the Dominion Heights subdivision in north-central Estevan.
Trimount partner Mike Reinheller said the first 37 single-family lots in their first phase in the subdivision sold out in the spring. Trimount built a total of 10 homes themselves, and the remaining were sold to other builders.
About half of the 37 lots have been developed.
Duplexes, condominiums and townhouses are now their focus in Dominion Heights. The 39-unit North Point condominium building is about 25 per cent sold out; Reinheller said sales typically slow down around Christmas time, but they should pick up in 2014.
He said the success of Trimount's Petterson Point condominiums in northeast Estevan encouraged people to consider North Point.
“We've been operating in Estevan for nearly three years, so hopefully we have a good track record and reputation,” said Reinheller.
Seven of the 16 duplexes have been sold.
Trimount has also exercised its option for the next phase of Dominion Heights. The 8.42 acre parcel of land will boast 19 single-family residential lots, 10 duplex units and two multi-family parcels.
“We're just getting the plans ready for the next phase to begin land development,” said Reinheller. “Next spring or summer is when we're getting looking to get going on that.”
But construction of houses in the next phase of Dominion Heights likely won't start until 2015. Reinheller said the remaining work in the current section of Dominon Heights will keep them busy next year.
Reinheller said that Trimount is confident that the Estevan housing market will remain strong for years to come, and so they want to continue to build in this city.
