Coffee house at the library

Comments

The Estevan Public Library and the Estevan Writers Group will team up to host a holiday coffee house at the library on December 15, starting at 2 p.m.

The Estevan Writers Group boasts people from the Estevan area, from varying walks of life, who come together to share their love of writing.

Library adult program coordinator and writers group member Krista Larocque said the event is an opportunity for the community to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon, with treats and Christmas-themed stories. It's also a chance to show support for local authors.

“We have a lot of literary talent in our little city,” said Larocque. “I’m glad we have a chance to share these talents with others, as well as just have a fun afternoon hanging out in the library.”

Readings will not exclusively be for writers group members, either, she said.

“Members of the public are encouraged to share any stories, poems or tales they would like to share, too,” said Larocque. “We’ve even had children sing us a song before; that was pretty cool.”

It will be the latest coffee house to happen at the library. A Halloween coffee house happened in October, and was regarded as a success.
