Seminoles win conference title

The No. 1 Florida State Seminoles hammered the Duke Blue Devils 45-7 in a one-sided game in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game. Seminoles freshmen quarterback Jameis Winston attempted 32 passes while completing 19 for 330 yards, along with three touchdowns and two interceptions. This is the 'Noles second straight conference championship, and they will face the Auburn Tigers for the national championship.

Other scores from the conference championships were: the Michigan State Spartans beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 34-24, the Stanford Cardinal beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 38-14 and the Central Florida Golden Knights got past the Southern Methodist University Mustangs 17-13.

In the NFL, the New England Patriots got past the Cleveland Browns 27-26 in a wild game. The Pats were down 12-0 at halftime and 19-3 in the third quarter. The Pats record is 10-3 and their next game is against the Miami Dolphins.

Other scores from Week 14 were: the San Francisco 49ers got past the Seattle Seahawks 19-17, the Green Bay Packers beat the Atlanta Falcons 22-21 and the Kansas City Chiefs took the Washington Redskins to the woodshed 45-10.

In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 88-82 in a close game. The Clippers also beat the Memphis Grizzlies 101-81.

In NCAA Basketball, the No. 19 Florida Gators lost to the No. 9 Connecticut Huskies 65-54 in a close game. The Gators are in fifth place in the South Eastern Conference.

In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires got past the Kitchener Rangers 2-1 in a close game. Windsor also lost to the London Knights 5-4 in overtime.

In the WHL, the Regina Pats put up two wins, beating the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-4 in a shootout, and then defeating the Saskatoon Blades 3-2 in a close game.
