This year's Preston Meyer Memorial Novice Tournament proved to be the biggest tournament ever hosted by the Estevan Minor Hockey Association, as 21 teams entered the event, which ran from December 6 to 8.

Division 1 boasted 16 teams and was offered for the more competitive teams. The other five teams participated in Division 2.

The Estevan Stars were the champions of the A event, as they defeated the Weyburn Sharks 11-6 in the final. The Weyburn Penguins beat the Weyburn DC Wings 5-4 in the B final. The Estevan Canucks doubled up the Weyburn Red Wings 4-2 in the C final.

And in the D final, the Carnduff Junior Red Devils No. 1 team beat Carnduff's No. 2 team 2-1.

The Carlyle Cougars won the A final in Division No. 2, beating the Estevan Flames in the final. The Crosby Comets won the B event, defeating the Midale Storm. The Ogema-Bengough Colts were declared as the C final winners.

The tournament is held each year in memory of Preston Meyer, who played in the Estevan Minor Hockey system. He passed away in 2004 following a recurring battle with cancer.
