Support for the curling club

Affinity Credit Union District 12 trustee Dennis Bode presents a cheque to Estevan Curling Club board member Frank Elberg.

The Estevan Curling Club is the first organization in Estevan to benefit from a program through Affinity Credit Union.

Affinity District 12 trustee Dennis Bode presented a cheque for $400 to board member Frank Elberg on December 9. The money is through Affinity's Community Spirit Fund.

Affinity has a nine-person board for the southeast, which is District 12, and each board trustee is allocated $200 to be directed to an organization of their choice. Two of the trustees chose the curling rink as their beneficiary.

Curling club board member Frank Elberg said they haven't decided on a specific project for the money, but it will be used for upgrades at the Power Dodge Curling Centre building, which the curling club operates.
