Dayman Trucking supports new nursing home

Comments

(L-R) Hearthstone Community Campaign representatives Don Kindopp, Dave Hammermeister and Vern Buck accept a cheque for $100,000 from Dayman Trucking co-owner Dave Dayman.

The committee that is fundraising for Estevan's new regional nursing home has surpassed a milestone.

The Hearthstone Community Campaign topped the $7 million mark December 5, following a $100,000 donation from Dayman Trucking. Hearthstone needs to raise $8 million – which represents 20 per cent of the new nursing home's projected $40 million cost – before it can receive the green light for construction.

Hearthstone representative Don Kindopp said they are pleased to eclipse the $7 million mark, and that they have less than $1 million to raise. Companies and individuals in the community have received requests for donations.

It took two-and-a-half years to reach the $7 million mark, said Kindopp, and he believes that's evidence that the community wants the project.

Dayman Trucking co-owner Dave Dayman said they wanted to support the Hearthstone campaign because the company believes it is time to build a new nursing home in Estevan.
