Estevan's Marie Donais Calder has released another book in her "Other Side Series."
"The Other Side of Commitment" came out in late November. It's the 13th book in the "Other Side" series, which chronicles the experiences of her father, Ed Donais, and other Canadian peacekeepers in Germany following the Second World War. It also looks at how Ed Donais' family in Alida coped during his absence.
Donais Calder said the book's name reflects several commitments: the commitment of Ed Donais towards his family, and the ongoing commitment of the German family towards Ed Donais.
There is also a wedding in the book, and so Donais Calder said the title honours the commitment of people with integrity.
The story also follows some unrest going on within the regiment of the Canadian peacekeepers, which leads to a historical moment.
