The Ottawa Senators welcomed Daniel Alfredsson and the Detroit Red Wings on December 1. The Senators lost to the Red Wings 4-2. It was Alfredson's first game back since he left Ottawa for Detroit. The fans gave Alfredsson a standing ovation and a video tribute for being with the Ottawa Senators for 17 years, and being the captain for 14 seasons. Alfredsson had one goal and an assist in the game.
In the WHL, the Regina Pats hammered the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-1 in a one-sided game and they also lost to the Prince Albert Raiders 7-6.
In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires split a home-and-home with the Sarina Sting. The Spitfires are in fifth place in the Western Conference.
In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Indiana Pacers 105-100 in a close game. The Clippers are in first place in the Pacific Division.
In NCAA Football, the Florida Gators lost 37-7 to the No. 1 Florida State Seminoles in a one-sided game. The Gators finished the season with a record of 4-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Other scores from Week 14 were: the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes got past the Michigan Wolverines 42-41, the University of California Los Angeles Bruins edged the University of Southern California Trojans 35-14, and the Boise State Broncos beat the New Mexico Lobos 45-17.
In the NFL, the New England Patriots got past the Houston Texans 34-31 in a close game. The Pats record is 9-3 and their next game is against the Cleveland Browns.
