Blue Rock Bruins win again

The Estevan Blue Rock Junior Midget Bruins won their third straight game in league play, as they defeated the Regina Mustangs 6-2 on November 29 at the Civic Auditorium.

The Mustangs opened the scoring early in the first period, but Ethan Wanner and Payton Stevenson scored for Estevan before the end of the period to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead.

The score remained the same until early in the third. JJ Holma, Jordan Nykiforuik and Wanner scored four minutes apart to give Estevan a 5-1 lead. Erik McKersie scored with eight minutes to play to up the lead to 6-1.

Regina would score once before the end of the third to round out the scoring.

Cole Barnstable was in goal for the victory.

Estevan's record in league play is 4-2. They'll host the Regina Blues on December 7 at 5 p.m. at Spectra Place, and visit the Mustangs on December 8.

The Estevan Century 21 Bantam A Bruins defeated the Lumsden Lions 5-3 on November 30 at the Civic Auditorium.

Brett MacMurchy led the offensive attack for Estevan, as he finished with three goals. Reegan Robinson and Eric Gusikoski had Estevan's other goals.

Estevan's record in league play is 3-4-2. Their next game will be Thursday, December 12, when they will visit Lumsden.
