The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins enjoyed a perfect weekend, as they won three games that they played in a three-day span.
The first victory saw Estevan double up the Notre Dame Hounds 6-3 on November 29. The game was tied at 3-3 after two periods, but Preston Hutt, Blaine Herzberg and Matt Bill scored for Estevan in the third. Bill's goal was his second of the game.
Kolten Ganson and Dylan Lay also scored for Estevan. Dayton Westerman added three assists.
Estevan scored twice in each period in a 6-3 victory over the Weyburn Wings on November 30. Kale Little and Ryley Giblett scored in the first period, Mitchell Morrison and Kaelan Holt tallied in the second, and Colton Winton and Ganson scored in the third.
The third victory was a 6-4 triumph over the Yorkton Terriers on December 1. Ganson scored twice, including the game winning goal with about two-and-a-half minutes to play in the third period. Holt scored the opening goal of the game and added two assists.
Herzberg, Lay and Morrison also scored.
Tanner Tytlandsvik was in goal against Notre Dame and Yorkton. Landon Audet was the goalie versus Weyburn.
Estevan is unbeaten in six straight league games, and their record is 8-4-3. They'll host the Swift Current Hurricanes on December 7 at 8 p.m., and visit the Regina Capitals on December 8.
The Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins dropped two of three games that they played in a four-day span in league action.
The first decision was a 4-2 loss against the host Weyburn Wings on November 27. Brady Long opened the scoring in the first period, but Weyburn scored once in the first and second periods to lead 2-1. Hunter Piche tied the game 22 seconds into the third, but Weyburn tallied twice to win the game.
Estevan had a 3-1 lead early in the second period in their next game against the Prairie Storm, but surrendered the next four goals in a 5-3 road loss on November 29. Jayden Davis scored twice and added an assist for Estevan. Cole Fonstad had the other goal.
The TS&M Bruins scored five times in the first period – highlighted by four goals in the final five minutes of the frame – en route to a 6-4 home ice victory over the Regina Monarchs on November 30. Brady Long had two goals and an assist in the first period to lead the offensive attack.
Hayden Cutler, Josh Skjonsby and Davis had Estevan's other first period goals. Brayden Pachal scored in the second period.
Ethan Veroba was in goal against Weyburn and Regina. Jeremy Dumaine was the goalie versus the Storm.
Estevan's record is 7-7-2 in league play. Their next league game is December 16 at home against Weyburn.
The Estevan Sherritt Coal Peewee AA Bruins dropped a pair of league games against the Yorkton Terriers, losing 8-2 on November 30 and 5-1 on December 1.
The Terriers scored three times in the first period and four more goals in the second to lead 7-0. Mason Strutt and Kersey Reich scored in the third for Estevan, and then Yorkton would score one more time to round out the scoring.
Yorkton scored four times in the first period, including two goals 15 seconds apart in the final couple of minutes of the stanza. Strutt scored in the second period for Estevan, but Yorkton added one more in the third.
Justin Hertes and Bryson Garton shared the goalie duties in the first game. Hertes was in goal for the second.
The Peewee AA Bruins' record is 2-7-1. They will host the Swift Current Broncos on December 7 at 2:45 p.m. and December 8 at noon. Both games will be at Spectra Place.
The Estevan Gem Well Atom AA Bruins won back-to-back road games.
They defeated the Melville Millionaires 7-6 and the Weyburn Wings 3-2. (Box scores were not available).
Their record is 4-2. They'll visit Melville again on December 6, and the Yorkton Terriers on December 7 and 8.
