Estevan officers involved in arrests

Estevan law enforcement officials were involved in an investigation that led to two females being arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine in the evening of November 21 at the Saskatoon Airport.

The investigation involved police officers with the Estevan Police Service and Saskatchewan's Federal Integrated Organized Crime Units in Estevan and Saskatoon.

Police in Saskatoon arrested a 23-year-old female and a 19-year-old female, both from Maple Ridge B.C., as they entered the terminal at Saskatoon's airport. The women had flown in from B.C. Subsequent to the arrest, police located roughly 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, which has an estimated street value of about $200,000.

Police are continuing their investigation and charges are pending. Both females have been released from custody.
