The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins split their most recent games in league play, as they defeated the Prairie Storm 6-5 on October 25, but lost 3-2 to the Regina Wild the following day.
Estevan jumped out to a 3-0 lead against the Prairie Storm, thanks to two goals by Matt Bill and a tally from Mitchell Morrison. But the Storm scored four unanswered goals in the second to take a 4-3 lead.
Kaelan Holt tied the game late in the middle frame.
The Storm scored again in the third to lead 5-4, but Holt scored twice, including the game-winner with 86 seconds remaining in the third, to lift Estevan to the victory.
Bill gave Estevan a 1-0 lead after the first period against the Wild. The two teams traded goals in the second, with Kyle Salaway scoring for Estevan, to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. But the Wild scored twice before the period was over.
No goals were scored in the third.
Landon Audet was in goal against the Storm. Tanner Tytlandsvik played the game against the Wild.
Estevan's record is 3-2-1. They will host the Notre Dame Hounds on November 2 at 3:30 p.m. at Spectra Place. Then they will visit the Prairie Storm on November 3 in Balgonie.
The Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins skated to a 3-3 draw against the Saskatoon Maniacs on October 26.
Wyatt Haux scored in the first period. After Saskatoon tied the game in the second, Cole Fonstad and Preston Brodziak scored to give Estevan a 3-1 advantage through two frames.
But Saskatoon scored twice in the third to force the tie.
Ethan Veroba was in goal.
The Bantam AA Bruins' next action will be at the Graham Tuer Tournament in Regina from November 1 to 3.
The Estevan Sherritt Coal Peewee AA Bruins defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 3-1 on October 26.
Moose Jaw opened the scoring midway through the first period, but Mason Strutt tied the game late in the first. Josh Romanyk gave Estevan the lead in the second period, and Dawson Schaff added the insurance marker in the third.
Justin Hertes was the winning goaltender.
The Peewee AA Bruins' next games will be in Swift Current on November 2 and 3.
