A comedy night and dessert buffet fundraiser will be held on Friday, November 1 at St. Paul's United Church, with proceeds being directed towards the Warm Welcome shelter.
Dessert will be offered at 7 p.m. and the entertainment will begin an hour later.
The program will include a variety of comedy acts. Singin’ Sam and Silly Sally will present western music with their own humourous spin.
The Stripper Trippers, Stone Broke, The Lady and the Tramp and other talented entertainers will also generate laughter for the audience. The emcee will be another comedian, Jim Dandy.
The Warm Welcome Program provides overnight lodging for homeless people in Estevan. It will run from December 1 to 31, and it will be expanded this year to be offered every night of the week. Shelter users will be lodged at St. Paul's and at the Estevan Salvation Army.
Last year the shelter was open from Thursday to Sunday. The intake centre was at the Salvation Army and the shelter was at St. Paul's.
