The date and the entertainment have been confirmed for the CP Rail Holiday Train's visit to Estevan this year.
The train will roll into Estevan on Thursday, December 19, at approximately 5 p.m. The entertainers will start to perform shortly after the train arrives.
There will be 14 brightly decorated railcars, including a modified boxcar that has been turned into a traveling stage for the performers. Thousands of LED lights will be installed on both sides of the train, and there will be new decorations.
The entertainers who have been booked for the train are Canadian roots music group the Claytones, Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Tracey Brown, and guitarist Willy Porter.
CP asks that people who attend the Holiday Train's visit bring a non-perishable food or cash donation for the Estevan Salvation Army's Food Bank.
The train will also be in North Portal at noon.
This is the 15th year for the Holiday Train program. There will be two trains once again this year: one that will travel across Canada, and another that will visit the northern U.S. and southeast Saskatchewan.
Since the Holiday Train program first launched in 1999, it has raised $7.4 million and three million pounds of food for local communities.
