Estevan Police Service members responded to a noise complaint at an Estevan hotel on October 6. The occupants of the room were removed as per the hotel’s request.
There was a hit and run on October 5, and the suspect vehicle was subsequently abandoned. Police were able to locate the driver of the suspect vehicle the following day. He was charged with failing to report the accident and driving without due care and attention.
Police are investigating a single vehicle rollover in the northeast corner of the city involving a half-ton truck. The truck drove into the ditch and up the ditch's side, which caused the vehicle to roll.
Officers responded to a noise complaint involving a large gathering in a backyard, with loud music and the revving of vehicle engines. The homeowner was warned about the noise bylaw.
Members were called to a business on October 5 to deal with a shoplifting complaint. Police viewed the surveillance camera and watched the young offender slip an item into his pocket the night before, and then leave the store. While police were en route to speak to the youth, he had a change of heart and was headed back to the store to surrender the item. Police took the young offender to the police station, where he was warned, and the consequences of his action were explained to him.
Police received a report of a theft that occurred at a local business on October 4. Numerous tools were taken. Police are investigating the incident.
A report of someone driving over a fire hydrant and breaking it off was reported to the police. The incident happened on Jesse Bay on October 2. Anyone with information can contact EPS.
Police received a report of an impaired driver leaving the parking lot of a lounge in east-central Estevan on September 30. Officers quickly located the driver of the vehicle, and after further investigation, a 61-year-old Estevan male was transported back to the police station. Upon arrival the male provided breath samples that led to him being charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. The male was lodged in cells for the evening and remanded the following day for a court date appearance later in the week.
A report was received of an ongoing domestic dispute in south-central Estevan. Upon arrival, a 32-year-old Estevan male was arrested for impaired driving and driving while over .08. The male was lodged in cells and released once sober.
