There will be plenty of music at the Wylie Mitchell Building in Estevan during the Senchuk Ford Dueling Pianos cabaret on Saturday, October 5.
Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) curator/director Amber Andersen said the evening will begin with a pair of performers who have been part of the EAGM's After Dark concert series: former Estevan resident Joel Henderson, who plays under the moniker of Poor Nameless Boy, and Saskatoon singer-folk artist Zachary Lucky.
Henderson and Lucky will likely play until about 8:30 p.m., and then the dueling pianos will begin.
"You have two pianists, and you pay them to play any song that you can think of," said Andersen. "Then they start outdueling each other."
Two Calgary-based performers – Jamie Mahn and Brian Burn – will be the pianists.
Andersen said they often play for about four or five hours.
The EAGM's board came up with the idea for the fundraiser, Andersen said, because they thought it would be an effective fundraiser and a fun event.
"These are world-class performers, so they really know their stuff," said Andersen. "When you think about it, it's everything from contemporary to the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s. Anything you throw at them, they can play it."
Proceeds will be directed to the EAGM's community programs.
