The Dr. Neil Howard Memorial Dog Jog for the Estevan Humane Society on September 22 attracted a healthy contingent of participants.
About 45 people were involved in the walk this year. The met at the Estevan Shoppers Mall and walked to the Kensington Greens Park before returning to the mall for a barbecue and an awards presentation.
About $4,500 was raised, which, according to humane society president Marlene Moore, would be enough to sustain the organization's animal shelter for a month.
Jordan and Garreth Gilroy gathered the most pledges, as they collected more than $2,500. Trena Rooks was next with $500. All three were presented with prizes.
Jessica Shebaylo-Lajoie won the person-dog look-a-like contest for the western attire sported by her and her dog, Beethoven. Kloe Barker was the runner-up.
Norm Mack won the award for the best dog costume for his canine's Harley Davidson outfit.
