Estevan finished outside of the money in the Richardson Pioneer Rider Nation Community Celebration contest.
The results were announced at half-time during the Saskatchewan Roughriders' game against the Toronto Argonauts on September 14.
Estevan was one of eight communities chosen to be a finalist for the contest. A total of 133,000 votes were submitted in the competition.
The Energy City was eighth at the halfway point in the contest, resulting in a big push from local football supporters to move Estevan into the top three.
Estevan's spot in the final standings wasn't revealed.
Dalmeny, which is located just north of Saskatoon, won the top prize of $50,000. Moosomin and Davidson were second and third, respectively. Those two towns will each receive $25,000.
In addition to receiving a cash prize, each of the three communities will host a celebration during an upcoming Rider away game.
