Estevan Police Service members received a call Thursday night of a fight that was going on at a local establishment. Members arrived and arrested a male for assault and public intoxication. The male will appear in court on a later date.
Police arrested two males for impaired diving. Both males were charged accordingly and will appear in court at a later date.
Officers were called to a hotel on Wednesday because an intoxicated male was sleeping in the lobby. Police located the male and upon investigation, learned he had urinated on the lobby's furniture. He was arrested for public intoxication. During the arrest, police found the male to be in possession of psilocybin (magic mushrooms); he was charged for possession of a controlled substance and a breach of his probation order. He was lodged in cells and appeared before a justice of the peace before being released.
Members received a call of an intoxicated male drinking in a parking lot. When police arrived, the male tried to hide the beer and run from police. A short foot pursuit occurred and the male was arrested, lodged in cells, and charged with consuming alcohol in a public place and being intoxicated in public.
Another male was lodged for being intoxicated in public after a complaint came into police.
Members responded to an alarm at a local establishment. It proved to be false.
Police were dispatched to the Estevan Comprehensive School on Tuesday on a report of a disturbance involving numerous people. Members attended, but could not locate any type of disturbance at that time.
Officers were also dispatched to a minor accident at the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Fourth Street. No injuries occurred, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Police were called to a motel to assist staff with an unruly patron. The 41-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober.
Members have begun an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred on the weekend of September 6.
Police were called to northeast Estevan for a complaint of a male attempting to light a cab driver on fire. When police arrived, the suspect fled on foot. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit on foot. The 45-year-old male was charged with assault, resisting arrest and breaching his probation order. He was held in custody so that he could appear before a judge.
Officers were called to a two-vehicle accident, in which a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old female struck a parked vehicle. There were three occupants in the offending vehicle. The driver and the front passenger were transported to the hospital by EMS for further assessment. The driver was also charged with two offences under the Traffic Safety Act in connection with the collision.
