Local cowboys, cowgirls and celebrities were able to showcase their skills during Estevan's annual Ranch Rodeo on September 8.
Eight teams were entered. Local ranchers were partnered up with a celebrity, and they competed in various events: cattle rustling, steer undecorating, goat tying, the saddle up, the hide race, a trailer relay race, barrel racing, team roping, a rescue race, pasture treating and a wild horse race.
The team that finished first in each event received eight points. Second place had seven points, and the point totals descended until the eight place team, which received one point.
The Black Team, which featured Kevin Gee, Chance Brown and Tyrin and Katrina McCuaig, finished first with 70 points. Their celebrity captain was Estevan Exhibition Association president Dallas Spencer.
In second place with 61 points was the Orange Team: they were comprised of Lloyd Thompson, Ralph Corcoran, Ryan and Tanya Bierbach and celebrity captain Jodie Bathe from Sun Country EMS. And in third spot was the Yellow Team with 47 points. Their members were Kevin Ribling, Kevin King, Kelsey and Terry Keys and celebrity captain Steve Smith from Logan Tools.
The ranch rodeo brought an end to three days of rodeo-related activities in Estevan.
