*Estevan Police Service members stopped a vehicle on Wednesday night due to driving actions. There was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The 25-year-old male showed signs of impairment. Two sample of his breath were taken and both were over the legal limit. The subject was charged with driving while over .08 and impaired driving. The male will appear in court September 30.

*Police received a call on Tuesday of some vandalism on the south side of the city. A window in a parked van was busted out. The matter is under investigation.
*Police received a call from a motorist who witnessed a semi passing another semi on Highway 39 between Bienfait and Estevan. The passing semi forced an oncoming vehicle to veer into the ditch. The semi was located and the driver was ticketed for his actions.
*A female came into the police station and complained that her debit card was used without authorization. Someone withdrew cash from her account. The matter is under investigation.
*Police conducted a traffic stop on the north end of the city on Monday night after they spotted a vehicle in a suspicious area. A check of the vehicle determined the lone male was using contraband. He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A small amount of marijuana was seized. He will appear in court on September 30.
*Police were called to a domestic dispute on the south end of the city. After speaking with the two parties the matter was resolved and no further action was required.
*Police were called to an area on the south end of the city when the complainant heard a female calling for help. A significant search of the area did not turn up anyone. No one else other than the caller heard the cries. The matter remains under investigation.
*A call for suspicious people drinking beside a hotel was also received. Police located several youths which led to liquor tickets being issued. Police seized an amount of alcohol and the youths were then sent on their way. One youth was detained after police determined he had outstanding warrants from Esterhazy. He was released to appear in court in that town.
*Police are investigating a mischief complaint in the 100 block of Second Street. A parked car was keyed.
*Police have been fielding a large number of calls from people about winning trips for shopping at certain locations in town. There have also been scams of houses for rent. The person requests cash be sent ahead of time so that the fraudulent individual can fly down and give the keys to the victim. In other instances, people are sending more money than requested. In turn they ask victims to deposit the cheque and then forward the balance of the money to the scammers via Western Union.
