Midgets and peewees eliminated from post-season

The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins are finished for the season, as they dropped their best-of-three league semi-final series against the Moose Jaw Warriors in two straight games.

Moose Jaw took Game 1 4-3 on March 14 in Moose Jaw, and Game 2 7-2 on March 16 in Estevan.

Estevan took a 1-0 lead in Game 1 on a goal by Steven Henderson, but Moose Jaw responded with three straight goals to lead 3-1 after the first period.

Riley Gibblett and Kaelan Holt scored in the second to tie the game after two, but Moose Jaw would get the winner midway through the third.

Estevan and Moose Jaw were tied early in Game 2, but Moose Jaw scored four unanswered goals to lead 5-1 by the early stages of the third. After an Estevan goal, Moose Jaw would add two more tallies.

Marc Shaw and Kyle Salaway scored for the Bruins in Game 2. Levi Eiteneier was in goal.

The Estevan Sherritt Coal Peewee AA Bruins were also knocked out of the playoffs in the semi-final round, as they lost to the Yorkton Terriers in two straight games in the best-of-three match-up.

Yorkton won Game 1 5-2 on March 16 in Estevan, and Game 2 11-3 three nights later in Yorkton.

Jordan Stein and Ryder Pierson scored in Game 1 for Estevan. Yorkton led 2-0 after the first period, but Stein scored in the second, and Pierson in the third, to tie the game. But Yorkton would respond with three goals in the game's final nine minutes to dash any hopes of Estevan handing Yorkton their first loss in league play this season.

JD Gervais scored the lone goal in the first period in Game 2 to give Estevan a 1-0 lead, but Yorkton would score eight times in the first 15 minutes of the second to lead 8-1. Hayden Cutler and Colton Schell potted goals before the end of the second to make the score 8-3, but Yorkton added three more in the third.

Cody Levesque was in goal for both games.
