Impaired driver and public intoxication calls for police

Estevan Police Service members responded to a call of a possible impaired driver on March 15. The vehicle was located and stopped. The 23-year-old male driver showed signs of impairment. He was charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08, and will be appearing in court on April 1.

Police were called to a local bar because a person was urinating on the ATM. The individual was located, arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober.

Police attended to a local lounge as an intoxicated male was asked to leave. He refused to depart. Police arrived and the subject refused to give his name to the officers. He showed strong signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for intoxication, and lodged in cells until sober.

While on patrol, police noticed a male subject who was laying on the road. The male tried to stand up, could not keep his balance and fell several more times while the officer was approaching him. The subject had a hard time speaking. He was arrested and lodged for public intoxication.

Police received a call of an intoxicated male at a local motel on March 14. The male was yelling, causing a disturbance and keeping people awake. When police arrived, the subject appeared to have settled down and had returned to his room. Police later received a complaint the subject had left his room and the motel. A search of the area did not locate him. When police were called back to the motel a third time, the subject was located in the hallway again making noise. He was arrested and charged for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober. 

Police were called to a disturbance a local night club. On arrival, the responsible individuals had left. A female subject not involved in the incident was given a ride home. 

Police were also called to a fight at a local drive-thru restaurant. Two subjects traveling in the same vehicle had a disagreement which resulted in a small fight. The matter was resolved and everyone was sent on their way. 

A 22-year-old male was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop for his driving actions. Police seized a small amount of marijuana from the accused person's vehicle. He will make a court appearance on May 27.
