The Estevan and District Music Festival's speech arts performances began March 10, and among the highlights of speech arts was the musical theatre performances March 11 and 12.
Musical theatre featured the talents of many local young people. Not only did it showcase their singing, dancing and choreography skills, but many of the performers also donned elaborate costumes that suited their characters.
Performers were divided into divisions based on age, gender and the pace of their music. They performed in solos, duets or ensembles.
Speech arts and vocal performances continued until March 13. Piano sessions will be held from March 18 to 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Band performances kicked off the festival from March 6 to 8.
The festival highlights and awards program will happen March 26 at the Estevan Comprehensive School, starting at 7 p.m.
