The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) is going to be busy, with a pair of events in mid-March.
The first will be the latest concert in the After Dark/After Hours concert series that the EAGM hosts with Eddie Webster's. The Dustin Ritter Band will be playing on Friday, March 15.
There will be an acoustic set at the EAGM, followed by a plugged-in set at Eddie's lounge. Admission will be $10 per person, with proceeds going to the musicians.
Doors at the EAGM will open at 8 p.m.
The Dustin Ritter band is a four-piece group from Regina, and they play fast-paced, high-energy indie rock. The band's original line-up was formed in 2009, and they quickly pieced together a full-length debut album, “Dead Airwaves,” which was released in the fall of that year.
Their music crosses over many musical styles, including rock, roots, reggae, punk, folk and funk. They toured Western Canada in the winter of 2011, and are currently planning a cross-Canada tour in support of their second album, “Drunk and Drowning.”
Band members are Dustin Ritter (guitar/vocals), Paul Hutchinson (drums), Jon Fearnside (bass/vocals) and Orin Paquette (lead guitar/vocals).
The other event will be the inaugural Fund-Raise a Glass wine tasting on March 16 at the EAGM. In past years, the EAGM has organized a wine tasting, which was held at Allie's Dining, but this is the first time in many years that the wine tasting has been held at the EAGM, and the first time that it has had the “Fund-Raise a Glass” name.
Those who attend the event will be able to sample unique wines combined with tasty foods.
It will start at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 each.
