Renowned supergroup Celtic Thunder is the latest attraction to be announced for Spectra Place in Estevan.
Celtic Thunder's concert, which is part of their “Mythology” tour, will take place on Tuesday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. UnionEvents.com and Spectra Place are teaming up to bring the group to Estevan.
An announcement was made on March 15.
Vocalists Emmet Cahill, Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson, Neil Byrne and Colm Keegan comprise Celtic Thunder, which has twice been named the top world music artist by Billboard. Their musics covers such genres as folk, traditional Irish, adult contemporary, rock and classical crossover.
They have performed such international hits as “The Boys are Back in Town” and “Still Haven't Found,” as well as original compositions.
Their live shows are recognized for the use of dramatic effects via lighting and choreography, as well as a stage set resembling an ancient stone pathway, drawn from Celtic lore.
Their newest CD/DVD project, “Mythology,” presents a blend of entertainment, ideology and Gaelic spirituality, providing a modern twist on the old Celtic storytelling tradition. A highly anticipated television special surrounding the Mythology tour began airing on February 28.
Celtic Thunder has become one of public television’s largest draws. In terms of viewers, their shows have aired over 16,000 times.
Tickets for the Estevan concert go on sale to the general public on Monday, April 15 at 10 a.m. by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-970-7328, on-line at Ticketmaster.ca or locally in Estevan at Henders Drugs.
Tickets are $75 and $55, plus applicable service charges.
