Wednesday's police report

Estevan Police Service members received a 911 call Wednesday night from a caller who had been struck by a vehicle near Ninth Avenue and Fourth Street. The operator of a black Dodge pickup had attempted to change lanes when he struck the victim vehicle. The operator of the truck then left the scene. The caller followed the suspect vehicle and provided information for police, as the suspect made attempts to elude the caller. Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and conduct a traffic stop. A 20-year-old male has been charged with failing to notify the property owner of damage and changing lanes while unsafe under the Traffic Safety Act. Alcohol was not a factor in this incident. The matter remains under investigation.

Police were called to two more accidents on Wednesday. One was on the west side of the city. The accident occurred as a result of a U-turn. An on-coming vehicle struck the rear tire of the other vehicle. A tow truck was needed to move one of the vehicles.

The other accident occurred on the east side of the city. A vehicle was coming off a side street and turned in front of another vehicle. A tow truck was need at the scene of that accident as well.

No injuries were reported in either accident.
