Mid-week police update

Estevan Police Service members received a complaint of a possible impaired driver near a local restaurant on Tuesday night. A description of the vehicle was provided to police and members were able to intercept the vehicle. A 48-year-old male was arrested and is now facing charges for impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will make a court appearance on April 1.

Another 40-year-old male was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08 after police noted his driving actions. He will also make a court appearance April 1.

Police were called to a disturbance at a residence on the south side of the city. Initial reports were of subjects attempting to break into a residence while the occupants were home. When police arrived, they determined all parties knew each other and had been drinking together when they had a disagreement. The non-residents of the home were sent on their way and the matter was resolved.

Officers were called to a residence on the north end of the city on Monday after a 911 call. There was screaming on the line. When police arrived they determined unwanted guests had arrived, which started a fight. The unwanted guests left after they learned police were called, and were gone on arrival.

Members arrested a 33-year-old male on Sunday for breaching his conditional sentence order. He is also facing two charges of assault and one charge of uttering threats. The matters stem from domestic issues. He was held for a court appearance on March 4.

Police were also called upon to deal with another domestic situation. A female was assisted in leaving the residence. No further details have been released on this matter.

Police were also called upon to deal with one more domestic matter. This issue was dealt with after police spoke with other family members. No further action was required.
