Bantam AA Bruins drop series against Regina

Bantam AA Bruins' goalie Carter Phair makes a save in a playoff game against the Regina Pat Blues.

The Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins have been relegated to the consolation round of the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League's playoffs.

The Bruins were the No. 8 seed in the South Division in the main playoff bracket, and faced the south's top team, the Regina Pat Blues, in a best-of-three first round series. The Pat Blues swept the Bruins, taking Game 1 6-1 on February 22, and Game 2 4-0 on February 24.

JJ Holma had the Bruins' lone goal in the series – a tally that came late in the third period of Game 1.

Cameron Lavoie was in goal for Game 1. Carter Phair was the goalie in Game 2.

Estevan is now in the eight-team consolation pool, with teams that lost in the first round, or finished outside of the top eight in the south. Their opponent isn't yet known for the next round of the playoffs, but based on the format on the SBAAHL website, Estevan will be the fifth seed for the consolation pool, and they'll likely play the Melville Millionaires.
