The Jesse Peters Trio will be coming to Estevan on Sunday, March 17, for the next show in the Stars for Saskatchewan concert series.
The performance will happen at 2:30 p.m. at the Estevan Comprehensive School.
Peters and his trio play a variety of original music that has been written over the past 10 years, and classics that showcase his vocal range. It's an engaging and musically captivating show.
Peters has been in the Canadian music scene since 1998. While still in high school, he garnered rave reviews from distinguished jazz artists Ingrid Jensen and Diana Krall for his singing and songwriting capabilities.
By the age of 21, his group, The Peters Drury Trio, had released two critically acclaimed recordings. His sophomore album, "Love, Doubt and Soul," was nominated Urban Recording of the Year at the 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards.
Peters' newest recording, "Face Time," embraces a vocally driven mix of original and standard tunes filled with energy, innovation, scope and range. From his falsetto that captures his depth of vocal color, to a cheeky commentary on the modern digital world; from the classic swing he was known for with the Peters Drury Trio, to energetic romps that pay tribute to Ray Charles and Michael Jackson, "Face Time" has a divergent collection of songs.
He is also the face and voice of funksoul artist Paramedic.
Tickets are available at Henders Drugs.
The performance is presented with the assistance of the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, Saskatchewan Lotteries, Saskatchewan Arts Board, Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts and the City of Estevan.
