Travel advisory issued for Highway 39

The Estevan RCMP has advised those traveling on Highway 39 that traffic is down to one lane near Roche Percee.

Due to icy road conditions, two tractor trailer units are currently stuck and blocking traffic. Efforts are underway to remove them from the hill.

Travel is not recommended in the area.

"Travel not Recommended" advisories have been issued for Highway 39 from the Canada-U.S. border to Midale, and from Yellow Grass to the Junction with Highway 1. Other highways in the area have similar advisories, or are described as ice covered, or icy with slippery sections.

The road conditions are due to a system that has brought snow and blowing snow to southeast Saskatchewan tonight.
