Kevin Martin won the Alberta Boston Pizza Cup, which is the Alberta provincial curling championship. It was played in Leduc. He got past Kevin Koe 5-4 in an extra end. There were two blanked ends and there were single points scored in the other ends. This is Martin’s 12th provincial championship. Martin will now represent Alberta at the Tim Horton’s Brier which will be in Edmonton. Brock Virtue will represent Saskatchewan at the Brier.

In the National Lacrosse League, the Calgary Roughnecks got past the Edmonton Rush 9-8 in a close game. The Roughnecks' record is 4-2 and they are first place in the West Division. Their next game is against the Toronto Rock.

In NCAA basketball, the No. 2 Florida Gators beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 83-58. The Gators’ record is 19-3 overall and 9-1 in conference play.

In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the New York Knicks 102-88, and they also lost to the Miami Heat 111-89. The Clippers’ record is 36-17 and they are in third place in the Western Conference.

In the NHL, the Ottawa Senators lost to the Winnipeg Jets 1-0 in a close game. The Senators are tied for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

In the WHL, the Regina Pats beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-3 in a one-sided game. The Pats are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.

In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires lost to the Kingston Frontenacs 3-1. They also lost to the Ottawa 67’s 8-5. The Spitfires are in ninth place in the Western Conference.

In the English Premier League, Manchester United beat Everton 2-0. Man U’s record is 21-3-2 and they are in first place in the league.
