The regular season is over in the Big 6 Hockey League, and now the playoff match-ups are set.
The Bienfait Coalers (19-2) are the two-time reigning league champions, and the top-seeded team in the playoffs, as they had the best record in the regular season. They'll face the Carlyle Cougars (2-17-2) in a best-of-five first round series. Game 1 is scheduled for February 16 in Bienfait, and Game 2 is slated for the following night in Carlyle. Game 3 would take place February 19 in Bienfait.
Dates have yet to be set for Games 4 and 5, if they are necessary.
The No. 2 seeds, the Midale Mustangs (14-6-1), will square off against the Oxbow Huskies (7-13-1). Game 1 was scheduled for February 13 in Midale. Game 2 will happen on February 17 in Oxbow, and Game 3 would be February 19 in Midale.
Again, dates have yet to be set for Games 4 and 5.
The third-seeded Wawota Flyers (13-8) will face the sixth-seeded Redvers Rockets (9-11-1). And the No. 4 seeds, the Carnduff Red Devils (12-8-1), will meet the No. 5 seeds, the Arcola/Kisbey Combines (9-11-1) in the final first round match-up.
Dates for the Wawota-Redvers series and the Carnduff-Arcola/Kisbey series were not available as of press time.
