A 28-year-old male has been charged with possession of child pornography and voyeurism, after he was arrested at a border crossing last month.
Jason Marc Michel Moreau of Stanley, Manitoba, was trying to enter Canada at the North Portal border crossing. During a secondary examination of personal effects by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers, Moreau was allegedly found to be possessing suspected child pornography, and videos obtained through voyeurism, on his personal laptop.
CBSA officers arrested the male and turned him over to RCMP members from Estevan detachment for further investigation.
The investigation is still ongoing by the Estevan RCMP and the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which is a joint forces section comprised of police officers from the RCMP and other municipal forces from across the province.
Moreau's next scheduled court appearance is on March 25 in Estevan.
