Estevan Police Service members received a report Sunday night of a male approaching young children in the northwest area of Estevan. The male, who is known to police, offered food to the children. The matter is under investigation. A report was received Saturday night of an assault taking place at a residence in the northeast area of Estevan. The matter involved a dispute between a 52-year-old Estevan female and her 32-year-old daughter. Both parties were calm when members arrived. The mother was removed from the residence for a period of time and no further action was required. A report was received of a young male operating a vehicle in an erratic manner. Details of the offending vehicle were vague. The vehicle was not located. A report was received of several males causing damage to a vehicle in a parking lot in the north east area of Estevan. The males were observed tying propane tanks to the bumper of a vehicle. The suspects were located by police members. Their explanation was that they were playing a practical joke on a friend. All foreign objects were removed from the victim's vehicle. Two of the suspect males were arrested on outstanding warrants for their arrest. They were lodged in cells and released the following day after appearing in front of the justice of the peace. A 50-year-old Estevan male was located operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol. The male was served documents for court in the near future and released. A report was received of an attempt to defraud an Estevan couple of $2,500. The matter involved a male contacting the elderly couple and explaining he was their grandson. The male went on to explain that he was in trouble and asked that they wire money to him. Further investigation revealed that the grandson in question was safe. Officers responded to a report of a patron refusing to leave a lounge in the downtown area of Estevan on Friday night. A 25-year-old Estevan male was located and escorted from the lounge. No further action was required. A report was received of several young males using drugs in a playpark structure in the northwest area of Estevan. Further investigation revealed the males were not using illegal narcotics. A report was received of property being damaged at a multi-person dwelling in the north-central area of Estevan. Further investigation revealed a 39-year-old Estevan male and a 28-year-old Estevan female had been involved in a disagreement. A short time later the same male left the area and proceeded to assault his 23-year-old daughter. He then damaged property belonging to his daughter. The male was located the following day. He was arrested and lodged in cells until February 10, when he was released on a number of conditions. Members attended to a lounge in the east-central area of Estevan, in response to a report of an assault. The victim, a 22-year-old Estevan male, was struck in the face with a beer bottle. A 23-year-old Estevan female was arrested and charged with assault. She was then released on a number of conditions. A report was received of an ongoing domestic dispute involving violence in the north-central area of Estevan. A 42-year-old Estevan male and a 32-year-old Estevan female were locating walking in the area. Further investigation revealed that no assault had taken place. Both parties went their separate ways for the night. While on patrol, members located a vehicle being operated without valid registration. The 45-year-old Estevan male operating the vehicle was issued a ticket, which carries a fine of $580. A report of a noisy party was received in regards to a residence in the south-central area of Estevan. The occupants of the residence were warned of the noise bylaw and the music was turned down. A 41-year-old male from Macoun was located operating a vehicle while impaired. The male was lodged in cells, to be released once sober.
