There is less than a week remaining in the 2012-13 Big 6 Hockey League regular season, but there are still a few positions up for grabs.
The Bienfait Coalers (17-2 through February 5) have clinched the regular season title. The Midale Mustangs (14-6-1) have finished their schedule, and will be second.
The Carnduff Red Devils and the Wawota Flyers have also clinched top-4 spots in the standings, but their exact order of finish isn't known. Wawota (12-8) moved into third spot with a 6-5 win over the Oxbow Huskies on February 6. The Flyers have 24 points, and one game to play.
Carnduff (11-8-1) is fourth with 23 points and one game remaining.
The Arcola-Kisbey Combines (9-10-1) are fifth with 19 points, and just one game remaining. There's a chance they could be caught by either the Redvers Rockets (7-10-1) or the Oxbow Huskies (7-12-1), who are tied for sixth with 15 points. Redvers has two games in hand on both Oxbow and Arcola-Kisbey.
The Carlyle Cougars (2-15-2, six points) will finish eighth this season. Carlyle lost 7-6 in a shootout to Bienfait on February 6.
Bienfait and Carlyle will meet in the first round of playoffs.
Five games remain on the Big 6 schedule. Oxbow will visit Redvers in a pivotal match-up on February 8. That game will be Oxbow's final contest of the regular season.
Redvers will then be at Carlyle on February 9.
The final three games are scheduled for February 12: Carlyle at Wawota, Carnduff at Arcola-Kisbey and Redvers at Bienfait.
