The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins' seven-game unbeaten streak in league play was snapped when they lost back-to-back games in early February.
The unbeaten run reached seven in a 7-4 victory over the Prairie Storm on February 1. Marc Shaw, Dylan Lay, Talys Halabuza, Tanner Jeannot and Blaine Herzberg scored in a 10 1/2 span of the second period. Shaw's goal was his second of the game.
The Bruins and the Storm were tied at 1-1 after the first period, but the five-goal outburst gave Estevan a 6-2 lead after the second period.
Kaelan Holt scored late in the third to finish Estevan's scoring.
Estevan lost 6-4 the following day to the league-leading Notre Dame Bantam Hounds. Jeannot had a goal and two assists in the defeat. Shaw, Kyle Salaway and Ryan Shirley also scored.
Estevan surrendered four goals in the first period in a 5-3 loss against the Yorkton Terriers on February 3. Shaw scored in the second period, and Steven Henderson and Talys Halabuza tallied in the third, to pull Estevan within a goal, but Yorkton tacked on an insurance marker late in the third.
Tanner Tytlandsvik was in goal against the Storm and Yorkton. Levi Eiteneier started against the Hounds.
Estevan has a 14-9-6 record in league play. Their next regular season game is February 13 at home against the Notre Dame Argos; it will start at 7:45 p.m.

The Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins beat the Notre Dame Hounds twice, but lost to the Yorkton Terriers, in their most recent league games.
Estevan edged Notre Dame 6-5 on January 30, as Colton Winton scored his second of the game with six seconds remaining in the third to lift Estevan to victory. Matthew Bill scored twice in the third. Peyton Stevenson and Kolten Ganson also scored.
Cameron Lavoie was in goal.
Carter Phair was in goal for Estevan in a 5-0 loss to Yorkton February 2. The game was tight after two periods, as Yorkton led just 2-0. But the Terriers proceeded to score three times in the third.
Estevan responded with an 8-4 victory over the Hounds on February 3. Bill had three goals and an assist, Morrison scored twice and Winton added a goal and two assists. Stevenson and Jayden Davis also scored.
Lavoie was in goal for the victory.
Estevan's record is 9-14-3 in league play. The second year players will be part of the Zone 1 selection camp February 9 to 11 in Estevan. The Bantam AA's next league game will be the season finale February 16 in Regina against the Pat Blues.
