The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired slotback Geroy Simon from the B.C. Lions. The Riders gave up receiver Justin Harper and a draft pick in the 2014 CFL Draft. Simon spent 12 seasons with the Lions. Simon is the CFL's all-time leading receiver with 15,787 yards, and he is third with 989 receptions. He missed five games last season because of injury.
In the NFL Pro Bowl, the NFC blasted the AFC 62-35 in a one-sided game. Kyle Rudolph, who plays for the Minnesota Vikings, was named the MVP of the Pro Bowl. The 62 points by the NFC is a new Pro Bowl record.
In the National Lacrosse League, the Calgary Roughnecks beat the Philadelphia Wings 16-8 in a one-sided game. The Roughnecks’ record is 2-2 and they are in second place in the West Division.
In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers split a home and home with the Portland Trail Blazers, winning the second game 96-83. The Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference.
In NCAA Basketball, the No. 8 Florida Gators beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 82-47. The Gators are in second place in the South Eastern Conference.
In the WHL, the Regina Pats lost to the Kootenay Ice 3-1. The Pats also lost to the Swift Current Broncos 5-4 in overtime. Regina is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires lost to the Sudbury Wolves 8-4. They earlier defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-2 in a shootout. The Spitfires are in ninth place in the Western Conference.
In the English Premier League, Manchester United beat Fulham 4-1 in FA Cup play. Man U’s record is 18-3-2 and they are first place.
