Curling Club's naming rights sold

The Estevan Curling Club has sold the naming rights for its building.

The building will now be known as the Power Dodge Curling Centre. Power Dodge will pay $25,000 a year for the next 10 years to have its name attached to the venue.

“This is very good,” said Estevan Mayor Roy Ludwig.

Estevan City Council had to sign off on the agreement before it could be finalized, as the City of Estevan and the curling club operate the building.

As part of the agreement, the name Power Dodge Curling Centre will replace Estevan Curling Club on the main exterior wall of the building. Power Dodge will also have predominant ice logos for the curling season, four preferred seats and platinum sponsorship at all Saskatchewan Curling Association events. The Power Dodge Curling Centre logo will be on the websites for the curling club and the City of Estevan.

Money that the curling club receives from the agreement will be directed towards capital purchases and the other needs at the rink.

The pact between Power Dodge and the curling club will take effect on October 1, 2013.
