The San Francisco 49ers are off to Super Bowl XLVII after getting past the Atlanta Falcons 28-24. San Francisco was down 17-0 half way through the second quarter and were down by 10 at halftime. They would complete the comeback in the second half. This is San Francisco’s first time going to the Super Bowl since 1994. The 49ers will face the Baltimore Ravens, who beat the New England Patriots 28-13. I think San Francisco will win the Super Bowl 31-24.
In NCAA Basketball, the No. 10 Florida Gators beat the Missouri Tigers 83-52 in a one-sided game. The Gators' record is 14-2 and 4-0 in conference play.
In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Washington Wizards 94-87. The Clippers are in second place in the Western Conference.
In the National Lacrosse League, the Calgary Roughnecks lost to the Colorado Mammoth 13-12. The Roughnecks' record is 0-2 and their next game is against the Colorado Mammoth.
In the NHL, the Ottawa Senators beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 in their first game of the season. The Jets scored the first goal of the game but Ottawa scored four unanswered goals for their first win.
In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires got past the Sarnia Sting 5-4 in a close game. The Spitfires are in ninth place in the Western Conference.
In the WHL, the Regina Pats lost to the Swift Current Broncos 2-1 and they also lost to the Kootaney Ice 2-1. The Pats are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
In the English Premier League, Manchester United tied Tottenham Hotspur 1-1. Man U also beat West Ham United 1-0. Manchester United’s record is 18-3-2 and they are in first place in the league.
