Three wins for bantam A Bruins

The Estevan Century 21 Bantam A Bruins won a trio of games in league play: 7-6 over Indian Head on January 16, 4-2 over Weyburn on January 19 and 5-3 over the Regina Ducks on January 20.

Colein Poole scored twice to lead a five-goal outburst in the first period against Indian Head. Josh Giblett, Keaten Tarnes and Kyle Hertes also scored in that frame. Indian Head chipped away at the lead and pulled within a goal during the second period, but Prestin Bergen scored late in the frame to give Estevan a two-goal lead. Hunter Piche added a goal in the third.

Bergen added two assists to have a three-point game.

Hertes scored 20 seconds into the game in the win over Weyburn. Shae Little scored in the first, and Wyatt Haux added a goal early in the second to make the score 3-0. Bergen scored late in the third.

Estevan had three goals in the second period against the Ducks, as Poole, Brady Long and Justin Weinrauch scored. Giblett scored in the first period, and Dawson Nobbiss finished the scoring in the third – a tally with eight-and-a-half minutes to play in the game that dashed any hopes of a Regina comeback.

Ethan Veroba started against Indian Head and Regina. Miller was in goal against Weyburn.

Estevan's record is 11-4-2. They'll visit the Regina Penguins on January 25 and Quad Town on the 26th.

The Junior Midgets' record is 5-7-5. They'll host the Regina Capitals on January 26 at 5 p.m. at the Lignite Miners Centre, and the Flames on January 27 at 5:15 p.m. at Spectra Place.
