The Estevan Knights of Columbus has stepped forward with support for Estevan's new regional nursing home.
The Knights of Columbus made a $55,000 donation January 14 to the Hearthstone Community Campaign – the group that is fundraising for the new nursing home. The Knights used some of the money that they received from the sale of their building a few years ago to support Hearthstone.
Members of the Knights of Columbus said they recognize the value of a new nursing home in Estevan, and they wanted to make a significant contribution.
More than $6.5 million has been donated to Hearthstone.
The Hearthstone campaign has to raise $8 million, which is 20 per cent of the project's estimated cost, before construction can begin.
