The Estevan Century 21 Bantam A Bruins' first action following the Christmas break was a tournament in Yorkton.
Estevan opened the tournament with a 3-1 victory over a team from Melville. The line of Preston BrodIak, Wyatt Haux and Colein Poole accounted for all of the offence, as each player had a goal and two assists.
Their next game was a 4-1 loss against the host Yorkton team. Brodziak had the lone goal.
Estevan responded with a convincing 8-2 triumph over Grenfell. Brodziak, Poole and Preston Bergen each had two goals for Estevan. Josh Giblett and Sage Dayman also scored.
The Bruins finished with a 2-1 record in the round robin, and played Hudson Bay in the B final. Estevan lost 5-3. Brodziak scored twice and Poole had the other goal.
Ethan Veroba started against Melville and Grenfell, while Zack Miller started against Yorkton and Hudson Bay. Miller was injured partway through the game against Hudson Bay, and was replaced by Veroba.
Up next for the Bantam A Bruins will be a tournament in Prince Albert that starts January 11.

The Estevan Blue Rock Midget A Bruins had a 4-0 loss to the Regina Capitals and a 4-4 tie against the Regina Wild in their first games after the Christmas break.
The game against the Capitals was close for most of the contest. Regina was clinging to a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes to play in the third. But the Capitals scored three times in a five-and-a-half minute span to pull away.
The Wild had leads of 3-0 after the first period, and 4-2 early in the third, but Estevan rallied for the draw. Ryan Smith scored twice, including the tying goal four minutes into the third period. Bailey Lonsberry and Dayton Westerman also scored.
Landon Audet was in goal against the Capitals. Brett Friess played against the Wild.
Estevan's record in league play is 5-7-3. They'll visit the Capitals again on January 12, and Weyburn on January 15.
