Ray and Doris Frehlick presented a cheque for $100,000 to Hearthstone Community Campaign member Vern Buck.
The Hearthstone Community Campaign has surpassed another benchmark in its fundraising efforts for Estevan's new regional nursing home.
The campaign received a donation from local residents Ray and Doris Frehlick on December 21. That donation pushed the campaign past the $6 million mark.
Hearthstone was hovering just above the $1 million mark at the start of 2012, but support from residents, businesses, organization, municipalities and estate donations generated nearly $5 million in 2012.
A total of $8 million must be raised before a new regional nursing home can proceed. The $8 million represents 20 per cent of the new nursing home's projected cost.
