SaskTel and its employees from the Estevan area who participate in the TelCare program – the Crown Corporation’s employee donation benevolent fund – are donating $13,650 to seven organizations this year.
The organizations are: the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, Child Find Saskatchewan, Community Asthma Clinics, the Estevan Regional Nursing Home, the Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and United Way Estevan.
SaskTel TelCare is a volunteer organization of SaskTel employees who contribute donations through an automatic payroll deduction. SaskTel donates 50 cents for every dollar employees contribute through TelCare. Across the province, the TelCare program will contribute a projected $279,735 to Saskatchewan non-profit organizations in 2012.
“We are very proud of our employees who have continued to show their generosity for over 62 years with both their time and money,” said SaskTel president and CEO Ron Styles. “TelCare is another great example of how SaskTel and our employees contribute to the overall quality of life in Saskatchewan communities.”
SaskTel TelCare was established in 1950 and has been strongly supported by SaskTel and their employees. Each year, TelCare members vote to determine which organizations will receive TelCare funds.
SaskTel has $1.1 billion in annual revenue and over 1.45 million customer connections, including over 600,000 wireless accesses, 528,000 wireline network accesses, 230,000 internet accesses and 95,000 Max TV subscribers. SaskTel and its wholly-owned subsidiaries boast a workforce of approximately 4,100 employees.
