Quiet weekend in the Big 6

The Big 6 Hockey League has been relatively quiet recently, as just one game was played on December 14, and two were played on December 15.

The Carnduff Red Devils defeated the Midale Mustangs 4-1 December 14 in Carnduff. The games on December 15 saw the Wawota Flyers edge Carnduff 3-2, and the Bienfait Coalers beat the Oxbow Huskies 6-1.

The Coalers continue to lead the league with an 8-1 record, and 16 points. Midale is second at 6-3-1, and 13 points.

Four teams are battling for third place. Wawota (5-3) and the Arcola-Kisbey Combines (5-4) are tied for third with 10 points each, but Wawota has a game in hand. Carnduff (4-2-1) is tied for fifth with the Redvers Rockets (4-5-1), as each team has nine points, but Carnduff has three games in hand on Redvers.

The Red Devils have played the fewest games in the league.
Oxbow (3-7-1) sits seventh with seven points. The Carlyle Cougars (1-7) are eighth with two points.

Five games are scheduled to happen prior to the Christmas break. Contests on December 21 are Carnduff at Wawota and Carlyle at Midale.

Three games are slated for December 22: Carlyle at Wawota, Arcola-Kisbey at Oxbow and Carnduff at Redvers.

All games will start at 8 p.m.
