The three Estevan teams in the South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League thrived during their recent league games, as they combined to win five of six contests.
The Estevan Power Dodge Bantam A Chargers defeated the Prairie Storm 3-1 in Pilot Butte on December 8, and the Fort Qu'Appelle Flyers 4-2 on the road December 9.
Allie Butler opened the scoring for Estevan midway through the first period against the Storm. Kailey McLellan upped the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the second period. The Storm cut the lead in half with a third period marker, but Mariah McKersie iced the victory with a goal in the dying seconds of the third.
The Chargers scored three times in the third period to rally and beat Fort Qu'Appelle. The Flyers led 2-0 midway through the second period, but McKersie scored late in the stanza to cut the lead in half. McLellan tied the game 12 minutes into the third, and Ashton Magotiaux scored 56 seconds later to give the Chargers the lead. McKersie scored her second of the game late in the period.
The Chargers have a 9-1-1 record in league play. They'll visit Weyburn on December 15, host the Regina Capitals on December 16 at 3:30 p.m., and play the Estevan Dayman Trucking Bulldogs on December 19 at 7 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium.

The Bulldogs won a pair of road games, as they defeated the Southwest Cyclones 4-2 on December 8 in Gull Lake, and the Swift Current Colts 4-1 on December 9.
Jenna Grube had two goals and two assists in the victory over the Cyclones. She opened the scoring midway through the second, and assisted on Tionna Nashiem's goal five minutes later that gave Estevan a 2-0 lead. The Cyclones would score once before the period ended.
Grube scored again five minutes into the third, but the Cyclones responded with a power play goal a few minutes later. Cassie Blanchette finished off the scoring for Estevan with seven minutes to play in the game.
Marcedes Singleton was in goal for the victory.

The Bulldogs have an 11-1-1 record in league play. They'll visit Moose Jaw on December 15 and Wood River on December 16, and then play the Chargers on the 19th to close out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.

The Estevan Baxter Midget A Cougars split their most recent league games, as they defeated the host Melville Miss Mills 4-2 on December 8, but lost 6-1 at home December 9 to the Diefenbaker Thunder.
Paige Collopy and Bailey Pierson scored in the first period against Melville to give Estevan a 2-0 lead. Collopy scored in the second to up the lead to 3-0.
Melville scored twice in the third to pull within a goal, but Haley Ronyk restored the two-goal lead with a goal late in the period.
Brianna Cote was in goal for the victory.
Kaitlyn Dukart had the Cougars' lone goal against the Thunder. It came late in the second, and pulled Estevan to a 3-1 deficit. But the Thunder scored three times in the third to dash Estevan's hopes of a comeback.

The Cougars' record in league play is 4-3. They'll visit Melville again on December 16.
